This hotel is convienient to Red Top, the town of Cartersville and to the Church.

When you call, let whomever is working the desk that you have already spoken to Vince and would like a room near Jan Hunt and Donna Clark.

We have already reserved rooms. This is for Saturday the 16th of July.

Vince indicated that they are getting pretty booked already for July.

If this place fills up there are other hotels in the area. I don't know how much they charge.

Comfort Inn is $59.50 and that is the 50 Plus Senior rate. (which most of us fit under)

I did tell him there would be 5-7 other people calling to reserve rooms and he said the rate would be the same for them.....but ask to make sure.

I will be going up to Cartersville on Sat. and spending the night then checking into Red Top on Sunday.

All y'all are on your own for reserving a room in Cartersville. The cost is around $50 - $60/ night

I also have located the LDS chapel so we can attend church on Sunday morning (9 a.m.) before checking into Red Top.

Let anyone know that you talk to who is flying in on Sat. and may need a room for the night.

We had a planning mtg. last week ( We = granny Lou, aunt Cathy, Amanda & John, Celina Mae and I), and I will do my best to get info to all y'all. I need to know how many think they are coming. I have reserved 10 cabins but am planning to drop four of them if we do not need them. Six or Seven cabins keep us in the budget Granny Lou says she can afford. Any more and we start adding a few thousand to the bill. If we need them fine, but if we don't I would have to pay for the ones we don't need just because I didn't cancel in time. I don't have that kind of money just laying around.

Also with T-shirts, how many people want them, at around $7/shirt......I may know more when I actually go to the shop to have them done. WE were thinking the theme of "Georgia on my mind" with a peach in the center and all the names inside the peach.......?

Actually, the cabins are very nice. They are 10 people per cabin units, with two bedrooms with two double beds in each and two bathrooms.....a nice size kitchen with full refrigerator, a stove and dishes that will service ten people. Although I think paper plates etc. will work very nicely since we will be so busy having fun! Might get by with 12 or 13 per cabins if some are just little babies or 1 0r two years old.

Town is only the next exit away, or about 3 miles. It is a good size town (Cartersville, Ga), complete with a wal-mart, Target, Kroger, taco bell, Col.Sanders etc.

WE are in the process of getting info out as to the committee heads, and hope everyone will be willing to help with the activities when called upon. I'll just get more organized and send the rest of the info when I have it.

The check in time and date is on Sunday, July17th at 4pm (if the rooms are cleaned earlier you can go ahead and check in) and check out will be Thurs 21st by 11am. This is for 2005 - just making sure ya know.

I just got into my email so I may be slow getting back to you. Aunt Louie and I spent Monday going to the state parks in Northern Ga. and finally settled on one we think will be "IDEAL" for our next reunion. I cannot finalize until Aug. b/c they don't take reservation til 11 months ahead. So I'll be on it like a fly to molasses as soon as Aug is here.

We will be going for the third week of July since that is when it has been and at the last reunion I remember people saying that was a good time. Check in on MON. out by 11 a.m. on Thurs. Anyone that wishes to spend more time can use my house as a stopping place. Savannah is about three hours from my house and is a good "all day" trip if you want to see the Atlantic ocean, climb to the top of a light house, walk thru an old 'original' fort, and walk along a river walk (that is full of tourist shops - but fun)

I will be sending more info as far as exact dates as soon as I get them. I have reserved a cabin (ten person) for Sept. for a planning mtg..........if anyone out there will be in the area they are welcome to come. The Atlanta airport is about 1 1/2 - 2 hours from the park. Richard said something about an airport in Asheville, North Carolina and one in Chattanooga, Tenn. I will have to check in to those for how far away they are. Hopefully that will give people a choice and maybe a negotiable price range. The park is called Vogel State Park and is in North central Ga. close to the North Carolina border. The closest town is 11 miles away --- called Blairsville. You can probably go to the website and see some of the area. www.gastateparks.org

Let those at your Sunday "Cousins Get-together" know or email this out if you want OR wait til I have more. We took a few pictures and I'll get Uncle Jim to put them into the computer so I can send them later......I would like to get a good count of how many are coming by the time I make the reservations in Aug. Right now I am plannng to reserve about enough for 84 people but if I don't need that many I need to know since there is a penalty to cancel once you've reserved.
