April 2007
Mary and Mike Ferguson Family
March brought lots of
visitors to our house! We celebrated Brandon's birthday at the YMCA pool with
his friends. It was a pretty easy birthday party with cupcakes and snacks and
lots of swimming! Brandon wanted us to play a guessing game about himself. i
asked him a bunch of questions about the things he liked and then we tested his
friends to see who knew him best. It was fun! Brandon is definitely taking
after his dad in being a big sports fan! As I type they are both engrossed in
the championship game of March madness. Brandon and Mike are headed to PHX in a
couple of weeks to meet Mike's dad, brother Paul, and ED and Adam and go to a
Nascar race. They are very excited to spend time with Papa Ferguson and the
cousins. Adam(Ed's son) sends in his mission papers this week. They think
that they will receive the call when Mike's dad and brother will be in town. It
would be fun to open it with everyone together!
Brandon's baptism was very special. We loved having Becca and Rich and Mel and
shannon with all the kids. It was our first family event with extended family
present. After the baptism we enjoyed lunch and sight seeing at Shoshone
Falls. Mike's mom flew out from
Alabama for the week and she
really enjoyed being with her grandkids. One night she and the kids planned a
surprise dinner for Mike and I. the table was set with candles, special plates,
and sparkling cider. We were given formal invitiations to attend the dinner
and had lots of pictures taken. grandmother took the kids to the grocery store
and shopped for the dinner. It was a good 'ol fashion southern meal with ham,
sweet potatoes, corn, baked beans, green beans, and apple turnover for dessert.
The kids all had a part in the preparation and we took lots of pictures!
Annette decided she loved Becca and Rich's kids so much that she wants to come
back to
Boise to just visit them.
I went to my mission reunion over conference weekend and saw a few of my old
companions and friends. It was fun to eat some russian food and hear our
mission president talk. They had some slides up and I couldn't get over how
young everyone looked. Sometimes I forget I am growing older. We all enjoyed a
quiet weekend with conference and some good family time. We are looking fwd to
Easter and little Ben turning 1 next weekend. I can't believe how fast this
last year went. he is still our little red headed boy and the best baby we've
had yet.
Katelyn is excited about going to the orthodontist and getting her teeth
straightened. Thanks to dad and mom for fixing all of our teeth! I never
realized what a sacrifice it was! Hope you all have a great Easter weekend!
Love,
Mike, Mary, Katelyn, Brandon, Lizzie, Jacob, and Benjamin

Rebecca and Rich Jarvis Family
Dear Guymon Clan,
I am very sorry for not sending in a newsletter last month. I feel
like in February I scarcely had time to breath. I am so grateful for
all that my family has been blessed with. Well, time to catch
everyone up to speed with the month of March. Rich turned 33 on the
3rd and Brooklynn confidently announced that she has officially been a
member of the Church for 1 year on the 4th. She wants to celebrate
that day every year, like an anniversary. We thought that was pretty
darn cool. We may just all start to have a special celebration on our
anniversary of baptism too! What an important event in all of our
lives!
Rich and I took a day trip and flew in the little plane to Pocatello
to ISU. His sister Cathi had asked him to come and teach a class
about leadership and making good life choices to a couple of groups of
middle school and high school students. It went well but when it was
time to fly home, the winds were gusting at @ 40 MPH, so we ended up
renting a car and driving home. It was like an 18hour date with my
sweet hubby!
Brooklynn was in her first school musical and had one of the lead
parts. She did sooo well! She is a natural! She reminds me of
her
aunt Mary. She had a huge half-slumber party for her 9th b-day in
February. Every girl she invited came!! We had 14 little 9yr olds
for 3 hours!! It went amazingly well!! Everyone came in their PJ's
and spent the first hour going from station to station doing hair,
make-up, and nails. We put one of her friends in charge of each
table. Then we had pizza and veggies, took pictures of each girl
invidividually and watched Homeward Bound on the big projector screen
while Rich ran to his office, printed up the pictures, and he and I
franticallly cut them and put them in 5x7 frames to give to the girls
when they left. I am glad we only do her friend parties every other
year....it takes that long to recover.
Richy is doing great!! He loves school and loves to read. Every
night he begs to read a story to Michael B4 they go to bed. He is
quite the skilled little 4-wheeler also. He has been learning to
drive one since he was 5 and is very responsible. G and G Guymon will
be grateful for that part. Richy and Brooklynn started after school
soccer one day a week and are loving it!!
Michael is becoming quite the little character. He loves any and all
sports. He loves to be caught doing good works. He also rides an
itty bitty 4-wheeler around that has a speed govenor on it (thank
goodness) and he loves it. He played lots of tricks on all of the
family on April 1st and kept saying Happy Apricot Day!! It was sooooo
funny. He keeps me on my toes! He says he can't wait to be baptized.
Joseph is just so darn cute we don't know how we got so lucky!! He is
the sunshine in our family. He showers us all with loves and kisses,
especially if anyone gets hurt. He immediately comes to the rescue
and kisses you better. There must be some magical power in a mother's
lips, because whenever he gets hurt, even when it is pretty bad, he
just comes crying to mom for a kiss, then seems immediately healed,
says, Thanx!! and runs off to play again. He loved when Mel and
Shannon and the kids came to visit. I think he thought that Shannon
was his second mom. He stuck to her like glue and just loved her to
pieces, and McKaela too! He had way too much fun waking Mel's boys up
in the morning by steam rolling them or body slamming them, giggling
all the time.
We had a lot of fun with Mel and Shannon and the kids for a few days.
We went 4-wheeling out in the dessert, went down and all spent time
with Mary and Mikes family for Brandon's Baptism in Twin Falls,
stopped off to see the new Twin Falls temple, went to Shoshone Falls,
played softball, football, and climbed trees, sang around Mary's piano
and enjoyed listening to Mel and Shannon play duets. We also went to
some tasty restaurants and just hung out and had fun!
Our new toy, or should I say Rich's new family toy is a waterskiing
boat. He has wanted one for about 15 years and pretty much has been
saving for one for that long too. We test drove and he skiied behind
at least 10 last summer. He is an avid waterskiier and would love to
have our kids love it too! The pictures we sent are of our FHE
acitivity.....waterskiing with trainer skiis across the front yard.
They all did it and did great!!! Rich is pulling them with the
4-wheeler. Joseph took the cake as he couldn't keep from
smiling...his whole face smiles and he smiled the entire time he
grass-skiied!! We had sooo much fun!! My cheeks hurt from smiling so
much!!
We are all so grateful for good health and the happiness and blessings
we receive from trying our best to live the gospel. Take Care!! Love
you all!!

Ruth and Adam Olson Family
Adam finally finished the BIG VTC
project! He can lead a more normal
life, now!!!! We are rejoicing over here!
Next project-Thesis!
Ruth is growing some vegetables for a garden, and they are doing well.
The boys have been outside more often with the warmer weather!!! IT
is beautiful! Can't get over how windy it is here!
Love to all!
Olsons
Mike and Rachel Guymon Family
Greetings to all!!
March was a whirlwind of fun, craziness, and funky weather. We had record temps for heat this spring. It has been hot and humid already, which is a total bummer! However, it has also been great weather for the chillins to be outside and they have loved it…climbing trees, playing at the park, riding their bikes, and even helping momma wash the car. Amberly has really enjoyed her gymnastics class. She is one of the older girls in class and definitely one of the more talented ones. She is such the happy laugher and keeps her mom and dad chuckling quite a bit. She also let Talia and Sarah know that she will be taller than them when she gets older (this was a retaliatory statement during a little verbal tiff). Talia and Sarah recently participated in a volleyball round robin tournament. They had been practicing weekly and finally got to show the fruits of their labors. It was fun to watch them become more aggressive as the games ensued. They both let me know they prefer soccer. Mason and Braden have really spent a lot of time in the world of Cars. They received a few gifts of the Cars characters and have spent countless hours in car chases, car races, etc, creating their own little vignettes and quoting parts of the movie, like, “Boy, you’re in a heap of trouble.” (Any takers on that quote?) Dad got to spend time with Amberly and her class as a chaperone to the Children’s Museum in St. Paul. It was lots of fun and quite a place of variety, ingenuity, and simplicity. Amberly and her little compadres had a blast!
Rachel and Mike have been quite busy with life, work, and the various unexpected event we all seem to have. We had a chance to have Rachel’s childhood friend, Annette Jones (now Annette Ricks), and her family over for dinner. It was fun seeing Annette and Rachel reminisce about their experiences in Idaho. Rachel was quite busy with helping set up Enrichment night where the anniversary of the Relief Society was celebrated and enjoyed. It was fun seeing her put a lot of time and effort into that event, and to see a great turnout to boot. We also got to participate in a special day for two wonderful people in our ward, Pat and Greg. Pat recently came back to church and her fiancé began investigating the gospel. Rachel and I were able to help the missionaries teach some of the discussions to Greg. We were able to support him at his baptism and wedding, which followed the baptism. They asked Rachel and I to be the Matron of Honor and Best Man, respectively. It was quite an honor and a wonderful blessing for our family to be part of their day. When telling the bishop who she wanted the witness couple to be, she could not remember our names. She allegedly referred to Mike as the “balding man,” a comment our children think is quite funny.
At the end of the month we left for Chicago to visit the Clarks. What a treat! We had a blast hanging out with Corky and Liz, playing Boggle (in which Liz is the true Queen) and our nightly ice cream sundaes. The children had fun with their cousins putting on plays, playing at the park, and riding the train to Chicago. Braden was quite the little terrorizer to the Rees man. Rachel was getting frustrated with Braden after he had picked on Rees for what seemed like the 100th time. She looked over and saw Braden sitting on a pillow ON Rees. She picked him up and told him to stop being a bully. He responded in a sad voice, “I’m not a bully!” Sorry, Rees, we love you man! Mike enjoyed jammin’ out with Corky (the heavy and the light stuff) and having fun talking about life. You’re the man, Corky! I toast a mighty non-caffienated Diet Pepsi to you! Corky made us his famous French Dip sandwiches one night and Mike made some chimichangas the next night. We ate so GOOD! It was a nice break for Rachel and I away from the daily grind. We look forward to more times with fam!

Liz and Corky Clark Family
|
What an exciting
month, seems like there has been lots of traveling and
visiting among the family. This is great! We Guymons have
to stick together, which has taken a little extra work since
the great migration out of
Arizona. Liz
and little Reesie went to
California
suppossedly to visit Grandma and Grandpa Clark, Corky's sister
Cerise, Karen, and her friends from the old neighborhood,
but from what we can tell she spent her time at the beach
soaking in as much sunshine as she could. (:
Corky, Haley and
Donelly took advantage of Liz's trip to
California to
visit Corky's grandma in
Peru,
Indiana (the
Circus Capitol of the World)where they had a blast. The
girls just love their great grandma so much and all the
attention she gives them. Corky goes for the Morrels (yummmmmy
wild mushrooms) that his uncles hunt. Nothing like 'em in
the world!
We were so excited
to get a spring break visit from Mike, Rachel, Sarah, Talia,
Amberlee, Mason and Braden. This was the most fun we've had
since we went and saw them in Minnesotta. We had fun at the
playground, movie nights with Pizza and Ice Cream (even a
little Dream Theater on the big screen), a train ride to
downtown Chicago, Chicago Dogs and playtime at MIllenium
Park. Mike made his famous Chimmy changas, Corky made
French Dip sandwiches and everyone got a little bit fatter.
Mike dragged Corky to the Prieshood session of conference
where Mike returned the favor by falling asleep in the front
row.
Reese and Mason are
soul brothers who spent hours and hours playing with Cars
(Mason came armed with his own fleet). Every square inch of
floor and countertop served as some part of the racetrack in
their minds. Those two will probably race professionally or
do car engine sound effects for a living (Vrooooooommmmmm)
Talia and Sara
showed off their Dance Dance Revolution Skills, which you
aughta know are unrivaled anywhere. If there was a DDR
world championshion you can be sure they would get first and
second place.
All in all it was a very busy and very fun month! Love, The Clarks |

Jim and Rachel Guymon Family
Jim celebrated his 29th birthday
this month on the ninth and really
enjoyed getting calls from everyone. We had a nice dinner and his
favorite yummy candy bar cake. The Olson's came down and spent a night
with us during Adam's spring break and we all went to the
National
Aquarium to see the dolphin show.
Olivia's favorite part is when the
dolphin jumps out of the water and touches a high up hanging balloon
with its nose. Rachel likes all the different kinds and colors of frogs.
I
think the boys liked the sharks best! Jim had
Spring
Break the following
week but we didn't do much traveling this time since Rachel's not
feeling well with "morning" sickness. We did accomplish our goal of
finding
and buying a van in preparation of our new addition. Bailee says she would
like a baby brother, but we are excited for either one. The girls had
a blast at an Easter egg hunt on Sat. with some neighborhood friends
while Jim and Rachel enjoyed a yummy brunch.
Bailee has learned to read and enjoys practicing reading books by
herself or to Olivia or Mommy. She has amazed us with how well and how
fast
she picked it up and can read many different books all by herself. She
usually only needs help with one or two words the entire book. She
also loves ballet and has a recital coming up.
Olivia is such a sweetie and loves to play, dance and do everything
with her big sister Bailee. She loves to sing and her favorite song is
"Jesus Said Love Everyone". We are so glad that she now loves Nursery on
Sunday and asks to go all during sacrament meeting and even during the week.
During the closing prayer one week she said really loud (she had been
getting progressively louder all through the meeting) "I WANNA GO TO
NURSY!" This summer is most likely our last summer in Maryland, so anyone
who
wants to come and visit, give us a call! DC and
New York
are just a
hop, skip, and a jump away.
